Training and skills programmes

The Department for Employment and Learning (DELNI) is responsible for higher education and training courses and runs employment schemes to create a capable, skilled workforce.

Success Through Skills is the framework which includes all training and skills programmes. There are various skills and educational programmes for school leavers, graduates, single parents or people with disabilities who want to combine job training and learning. DELNI works with approved training organisations who recruit course participants and run the programmes.

These schemes are designed to get you ready for employment. You can retrain, acquiring and updating IT skills and obtain nationally recognised qualifications.

Course participants retain their welfare benefits. There are also extra allowances for travel expenses and child care costs.
