Community cleanups
If you want to improve your community’s appearance and tackle environmental crimes, such as fly tipping, littering and graffiti, contact our Community Awareness Team to organise a cleanup. All kinds of groups, including schools, community groups, youth clubs or church groups, can take part in a cleanup, whether it's a simple litter pick or a themed event.
As well as helping the environment, cleanups also:
- encourage those taking part to take pride in their community
- build team spirit
- improve community relations, for example, between schools and the local community
- give you the chance to get some exercise in the fresh air!
- delivering cleanup equipment to your school or community centre, including brushes, shovels, litter picks, bags and gloves
- collecting equipment and bagged waste after the cleanup
- helping you to promote your event with flyers or leaflets.
To book a cleanup, email catcleansing@belfastcity.gov.uk or call 028 9032 0202 (extension 5383).
