Moving on Music Festival begins on 23 March. With jazz, folk, traditional and electro stars, the festival showcases mainstream and unusual acts. Wandering pianist Matthew Bourne tries out pianos around Belfast. Mercury prize nominated The Unthanks amaze with their new folk music. It is a festival of surprising performances in Belfast venues.
The Irish Astronomical Association's monthly meeting is on 10 March at Queen's University. Guest lecturers are professional astronomers and scientists who explain planets, meteorites and night skies. Members and non members are welcome.
